I love it.

learningallthetime · 25/05/2008 15:59

beautiful

wessexgirl · 25/05/2008 15:59

Lovely - rolls off the tongue nicely.

purpleflower · 25/05/2008 16:00

Really nice.

MargaretMountford · 25/05/2008 16:00

very nice - I like it spelled May better though but I'm being picky !

georgiemama · 25/05/2008 16:00

I love Olivia, I quite like May, but not spelt Mae, unless you are from Louisiana in which case fine.

nickytwotimes · 25/05/2008 16:00

Smashing name.

georgiemama · 25/05/2008 16:01

x posted margaret - that was spooky!

MargaretMountford · 25/05/2008 16:01
Grin
beaniesteve · 25/05/2008 16:03

oooh - I love it as Mae!

learningallthetime · 25/05/2008 16:04

I'd go with may as well

bluefox · 25/05/2008 16:06

Yes but def the proper way - May.

HonoriaGlossop · 25/05/2008 16:33

I think May is SO much prettier, Mae is an uglier way of spelling it IMO. Also Olivia is quite classic and elegant and is at odds with Mae

Olivia May is lovely.

nkf · 25/05/2008 16:34

Not keen on Mae but Olivia is nice.

4andnotout · 25/05/2008 16:34

Its hould definately be Olivia Mae as i have one! Mine is Olivia-Mae though
Mae is definately not chavvy and is lovely!!

FoghornLeghorn · 25/05/2008 16:34

I think it's lovely, I have a Casey Mae and I love it

nkf · 25/05/2008 16:35

As a combination it seems to me to invite that old joke about "Olivia may but she probably won't". I also agree that Olivia and Mae seem at odds with each other.

Kezza7779 · 25/05/2008 16:36

aww THANKS xxx great responses - however my great grandma was called Mae, my middle name is Mae and im sticking with the spelling to keep it going!
I do see what you all mean though about the spelling x

OP posts:
learningallthetime · 25/05/2008 16:37

You should def. keep the spelling if its a family name

MargaretMountford · 25/05/2008 16:38

oh, if it's family name with that spelling it should be kept

HonoriaGlossop · 25/05/2008 16:39

Well if it was me I think I'd break out and use the nicer spelling - it's still the same name, after all

However we are splitting hairs, nice name anyway!

Kezza7779 · 25/05/2008 16:43

Olivia May Stevens

Hmmmmm i think it 'looks' nicer with the Mae?!

OP posts:
4andnotout · 25/05/2008 16:46

I prefer the "e" version and tbh it's your baby so go with what you prefer! Im not going to ask mumsnet opions on dc4's name as the others have all been slated!

AbbeyA · 25/05/2008 16:49

I think Olivia May is very pretty-(I don't like the Mae).

WinkyWinkola · 25/05/2008 16:50

Very elegant. The Mae is far classier than May. Makes me think of Southern belles.
