Yes it’s fashionable now but it’s also a classic name. My DC’s have quite a few friends called Daniel and Sarah. I went to school with loads of kids with those names in the 70’s / 80’s. They were fashionable then. But they persist as they are also lovely classic names. I’d put Oscar in that category.

It may be a classic, but the popularity is recent. Babies called Oscar in England & Wales since 1996
You can't really compare it to Daniel and Sarah, because those are biblical names, and they have been use in many countries across the centuries.

Daniel and Sarah fell out of fashion because they had been overused. They've not stopped being nice.

I've nothing against Oscar, it's just that the name would have been unusual in older age groups.

Milo is a hugely popular dog name atm. Although tbf, it won’t be in 10-15 years time.
I prefer Leon to Oscar
