How does the name Miron/Myron sound?

I came across a Slavic name Miron… which I like for its short form. But I know that it might sound strange for someone not of that origin… is that really so?

I know a Myron, pronounced Mirren, who is about 10.

Or Ron Jeremy.

I just think of Helen Mirren… that’s how I’d pronounce it? Or Myron like lord Byron. Can’t tell if it’s for a boy or a girl. Not keen, sorry, it’s quite harsh sounding and ambiguous pronunciation
