Surname is Rose, I quite like the name Sofietta or Sophelia what do you think?

Sorry but both sound made up. Sophia is lovely though.

Shesellsseashellsnotinmystreet · 18/06/2025 09:58

They sound like sanitary pads...

Katherineryan1986 · 18/06/2025 10:02

I’d go for Sophie, Amelia or Harriet - don’t mash them together.

Rowen32 · 18/06/2025 10:03

They're terrible.
Sofietta sounds like a box of tissues
They're so made up

Sophia is lovely… the names you have suggested sound made up and not very nice either

user1492757084 · 18/06/2025 10:56

Sounds too frilly for me.
Ideas..
Mietta Rose
Sophie Rose
Sophia Rose
Ophelia Rose
Delia Rose
Harriet Rose

NuffSaidSam · 18/06/2025 10:59

Are these names from a different language or have you made them up?

To an English ear they sound made up. Like you wanted Sophia, but need to be 'creative' in your name choice.

Moreteaandchocolate · 18/06/2025 13:12

Sorry not keen. Much prefer Sophia.

😂😂🤣🤣

The two names that you've suggested @CaitlinRo don't remind me of a commercial product, so no issue there.
Both names are proper names not made up to those who don't know, but are not as common as Sophia or Ophelia.
I prefer Sophelia Rose, I think it sounds nicer together than Sofietta Rose, Sofietta has a harder sound, but having three syllables they both sound good with a single syllable name.

poolcabana · 18/06/2025 14:42

Both absolutely awful sorry.

Sophelia is a name. A sofietta is a tool glassblowers use.

CrackOnThen · 18/06/2025 14:57

Sofettia makes me think of drainpipes. And other guttering.

Eze · 18/06/2025 15:00

Where are you from?

repeatingabaselessclaim · 18/06/2025 18:37

I stand corrected @ForZanyAquaViewer .
I looked up glassblower tool, Soffietta ( with two "T"s) and yes, amongst other names, a soffietta is the name of a glassblower's tool.
Sofietta (one "T") is also a feminine name in Italy & Greece, and I have to wonder if many would make the tool name Soffietta connection.
Good for you though for knowing the name, you learn something new everyday :)

But is she Italian or Greek?

CaitlinRo · 18/06/2025 18:40

Ok I get the vibe is that people hate it 🤣 I just finding it hard to name a girl with our surname. I’m worried that most names are what people double barrel with rose so I wanted something longer

Clicked on the thread to say the same thing! It HAS to be Moira Rose.

repeatingabaselessclaim · 18/06/2025 18:51

Sophelia Rose sounds lovely together, Sofietta, not as much so.
Guess I'm in the minority here!

😂😂🤣🤣

Or incontinence pads.

itsgettingweird · 18/06/2025 18:53

They are nice names but I agree they won’t be well known and people will hear Serviette and people can be cruel.

how about

Ophelia Rose
Evangeline Rose
Emmeline Rose
Amelia Rose
Serena Rose
Verity Rose

Along the same vein as your names

Sophina Rose

JillyGiraffe · 18/06/2025 19:17

I think most names would go with your beautiful surname!
