What are peoples thoughts on this name?

It's one that I haven't heard, or seen on any lists for a while..

Tis a nice name. imo.

BellaBear · 23/05/2008 10:00

everone pronounces it Arron, instead of Air-ron. Drives DH barmy.

Very popular round here

Anna8888 · 23/05/2008 10:02

Jewish.

Are you Jewish?

DeeRiguer · 23/05/2008 10:02

i would say arron not air ron bella
its okay

Amandella · 23/05/2008 10:12

It's OK but nothing special.

Nancy66 · 23/05/2008 10:16

don't like it. Common

cheesesarnie · 23/05/2008 10:17

everyone i know who is arran is a child of an elvis fan.

BellaBear · 23/05/2008 10:21

well, yes, loads of people do. But it's not the original name (from bible). but then, names change

plus, i have taught loads of non-jewish aarons

MrsBadger · 23/05/2008 10:24

I like it - it was on our list because it's hard to shorten.

cyteen · 23/05/2008 10:25

I really like it (and always pronouce it Arron because the Air-ron pron. sounds stupid to me). I would have put it on our shortlist, actually, if I didn't have a really annoying friend called Aaron.

EllenJane · 23/05/2008 10:26

I met an absolutely gorgeous little boy with the name yesterday.

I find it strong but soft.

Bluestocking · 23/05/2008 10:31

I like it, but only if it's pronounced Airon. Arron is just wrong.

Divejaney · 23/05/2008 12:21

I really like it.
I knew a lovely Aaron at school (he was actually Jewish but that's beside the point)!

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 23/05/2008 12:23

Surely it will be shortened to air or ron, which both suck.

Or just mispronounced which also sucks.

PuppyMonkey · 23/05/2008 12:23

Like it.

It's whatserface's baby's name in Lost. the Ozzie one.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/05/2008 19:21

Has to be pronounced Air-ron. Was Elvis' middle name wasn't it?

It's quite nice for a boy, but not for a girl (there's a girl on Britain's Next Top Model called Aaron, which is why I mention it).

Tortington · 24/05/2008 19:23

nope

artichokes · 24/05/2008 19:26

I like Air-ron but not Arron.
I knew an Air-ron and everyone called him Ronnie (which put me off a little).

VictorianSqualor · 24/05/2008 19:28

Nope, use Rufus.

Tommy · 24/05/2008 19:30

I prefer Air-ron whihch is the correct Biblical pronunciation but I have a nephew who is Arun. Not sure that it's too commmon at the moment is it?

findtheriver · 24/05/2008 19:34

Biblical version lovely.
Sadly has become Ar-on and used by common people.
