Hi! We’ve a newborn called Casper. While I love his name, I’m a bit sad that a nickname hasn’t organically appeared. Saying his full name all the time feels so.. formal?
‘Cassie’ sounds silly.
Any suggestions?

Caz?

C-Pup while he's a baby and C-Dawg when older?

TheyreLikeUsButRichAndThin · 05/06/2025 17:52

It would be shortened to Cass in our family.

Cap?

C?

Casper nice on its own really. A nickname is something you make up, generally via cuteness with newborns. So that’s will come organically.

Congratulations, I love the name Casper, it’s super cute! I wouldn’t worry, a nickname will emerge organically I’m sure. What about Cas?

GoldenRosebee · 05/06/2025 17:54

Casper with nicknames
Caz
Cap
Cappi
Perry (from ending of Casper -per)

We use casp

My 2 sons NN have nothing to do with their names 😅
We have a Henry who gets - fat man, vinnie, HJ or blondie.
We have an Edward who gets - Tedster, bubba (how my oldest pronounced brother), and white boy.
I love the suggestion of Cap though, so cute x

Caz?

love this one

Cas or Casp seem the most obvious, although a nickname doesn't have to be directly linked to their name.

I wouldn't call a boy Cassie though.

Moreteaandchocolate · 05/06/2025 18:53

Cass or Casp?

Yes none of my children’s NN are anything vaguely similar to their names 🤣
