What are your thoughts on the girl name Alina?

Lovely, I knew a very sweet Alina whose parents were Spanish.

My best friend at school was Angelina but she always, and to this day goes by the name Lina which I don't think is as pretty sounding as Alina.
The "A" softens the name and makes it sound more sophisticated to me anyway.

I think it's a gorgeous name and I love that it is internationally friendly.

It's very popular in Spain and Romania.
Personally I'd think it was a bit weird if you're British but that's only because I've known so many that aren't and im not brit. It's actually a really cute name though.

It’s ok. Lovely Islamic girl I worked with with that name so have that association but if that’s yours then it’s 🥰

Russian or East European

It's okay. IMO there are nicer names out there.

It's a nice name, but I would automatically assume Eastern European links as the only ones I know of are Romanian.

I know several Ukrainian women called Alina. Pretty name. They are all rather wonderful.

I think it's one of those names that exists in a lot of languages and cultures. One of my parents is from Lebanon (Melkite Catholic community) and one is Catalan, and we've got an Alina on both sides of the family. If OP wants a name that travels well, it's a great choice.
