I came across this name in an article on unusual name and quite liked it. Not expecting just wondering what others think of the name. I do like an unusual name and I've definitely never met a Concordia

OP posts:

No. Just no.

Emma543 · 27/05/2025 20:26

I’m so sorry to me it sounds like an airline or brand of plane

MaggieBsBoat · 27/05/2025 20:26

Logistics and insurance company. Never!

DementedPanda · 27/05/2025 20:27

Concordia is a leisure centre in the north east, not to be rude but that's immediately what came to mind with the smell of chlorine from hours sat by the pool during my dc swimming lessons.

Beamur · 27/05/2025 20:27

It's the name of a ship which grounded and lots of people died and others injured.
Don't use it!

Goldenboysmum · 27/05/2025 20:27

Makes me think of that ship that partially sunk a few years ago!

FortyElephants · 27/05/2025 20:27

Isn't that the cruise ship that sank?

Zippp · 27/05/2025 20:27

I try to be positive on mn but sorry OP but that’s a bloody weird choice. Sounds like a management consultancy company not a person.

I had the same thought. Google costa concordia OP.

HornyHornersPinger · 27/05/2025 20:28

Awful imo

rockstuckhardplace · 27/05/2025 20:28

It should be a lovely name. Roman goddess, means harmony (I Googled).

Problem is it's used in too many non-human contexts. Like the leisure centre mentioned above. Which was the second thing that came to mind after Concorde, the plane (also NE England)

TUCKINGFYP0 · 27/05/2025 20:29

It’s a cruise ship which partially sank and 32 people died.

DancingDucks · 27/05/2025 20:30

Absolutely not.

Els1e · 27/05/2025 20:30

Just no.....

Needmorelego · 27/05/2025 20:30

I'm usually open minded to other people's name tastes but with this one...
No.
Just No.

Shesellsseashellsnotinmystreet · 27/05/2025 20:31

It's a scruffy place in the NE ime.

lilaclemon · 27/05/2025 20:32

Maybe you’ll like Cordelia too?

Was coming on this thread to say exactly this. You'd better hope your kid never moves anywhere near Cramlington...

Berlinlover · 27/05/2025 20:33

How have you never heard of the Costa Concordia?

CorneliaCupp · 27/05/2025 20:33

Why do you like an usual name?

Connie is lovely, Concordia is not a human name.

Beamur · 27/05/2025 20:36

Roman names:
Camilla
Claudia
Calpernia
Crispina (especially good if you like crisps)
Marcella

JDM625 · 27/05/2025 20:37

OP- were you thinking it for a girl or boy?

I too thought of the Costa Concordia disaster and it would be similar to calling your child Titanic! Just no.

Costas has similar vibes without the immediate connection to death.

BalloonSlayer · 27/05/2025 20:37

When I was growing up in the 70s, Concorde was a nickname for anyone with a big nose.

Needmorelego · 27/05/2025 20:39

@Beamur
"Crispina" 😂😂
Now THAT is my new favourite ridiculous name.
