Names for a small baby/child/adult

Just for fun!

I am small, from a small (height-wise) family with small children. I think a grand name like ‘Atlas’ would be so strange for a child in my family.

So, what names would suit a person destined for smallness?

My friend offered ‘Daisy’ and ‘Pixie’ for a girl and ‘Pip’ for a boy, so that should start us off nicely!

Dear lord, not Wren. It's so over used and just makes me think of that cheap kitchen place.
Just choose a name that would suit a person, but avoid anything too trendy or "celebrity".

I know a teeny tiny (for his age) Rex. He’s only 6 and I do hope he has a growth spurt!

Hahah I know an old man Rex. He remained short (and now fat) for life

Awww, Rex is quite sweet, although makes me think of a dog. Kids have growth spurts! Mine did in the early teens.

Tim
If the surname starts with a J sound. not Hugh.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 24/05/2025 11:26

I’d just pick a name you like (albeit not Olympia)

A small person will not necessarily appreciate being called Pixie or Pip, even if you would.

HugoYorway · 24/05/2025 11:41

Titania

UpUpUpU · 24/05/2025 12:43

How rude to give a smaller person a small name. They won’t thank you for it.

HugoYorway · 24/05/2025 13:12

@UpUpUpU ,which part of 'Just for fun!' do you not understand?

Max fot short! Brilliant.

Alexander the Great was quite a bit shorter than most of his generals, the Persian queen thought that one of them must have been Alexander as she was used to the King being the tallest person in the room.

Nelson was quite slight too, Napoleon Bonaparte was on the short side for his time ( so was Zhenghis Khan, but you probably don’t want to go there)
