Are the names Ava and Maeve too similar?

We already have an Ava.

Our other options are:

• Callie
• Isla
• Mabel
• Erin
• Elle

I think you could use them both together. But I do think Erin is lovely - could Maeve be a middle name?

I think so, same vowel sounds. Same with Mabel. I think not deal breakers, they just sound a bit bland and matchy together.

Erin works. I like Callie but would prefer a full forrm.

Yes in my opinion too similar sounding. Im having the same issue with one of the names on my shortlist sounding the same as their sibling.

Erin, Elle or Elsie are all lovely and go well with Ava.
Callie feels like a dog's name for me. Isla is nice but I think two names ending "a" are too similar sounding.

I wouldn’t because in later years Ava may get shortened to Ave and then you’d have rhyming names.

Elsie is lovely. Nice for baby (baby elsie) for a girl and grown woman.
