Timeless and tasteful, but overdone

GrumpySparkler · 14/05/2025 13:37

It's a nice name. No negative connotations that I can think of, it's easy to spell and no chance of mispronunciation.
If I'm 100% honest, it's not a name I would choose, but I also wouldn't think negatively about it if I heard it.

LadyGrillingSole · 14/05/2025 13:37

I really like it 😎

SheridansPortSalut · 14/05/2025 13:37

I like it

Sebora · 14/05/2025 14:07

It’s a nice name, I think it’s just overused. I know a few people with Ruby’s.

GloriousBlue · 14/05/2025 14:08

I don't know any little Ruby's and think it's very sweet. Quite a fiesty name in my mind

alsoFanOfNaomi · 14/05/2025 14:09

The only one I know is great (and very talented, so don't be surprised if the name makes everyone think "painter" in a few years!)

BarleyMcGrew · 14/05/2025 14:10

Berlinlover · 14/05/2025 14:11

Goodgrashus · 14/05/2025 14:16

Kaiser chiefs

HugoYorway · 14/05/2025 14:35

Goes really well with the siblings' names.

Purplecatshopaholic · 14/05/2025 14:36

Love it. Great name.

MyIvyGrows · 14/05/2025 14:37

Gorgeous, love it. I know a couple of little ones, a young adult and some older middle aged adults, so to me it’s timeless.

ballroomblue · 14/05/2025 14:45

Fine as long as surname isn't Murray.

Mercurial123 · 14/05/2025 14:46

I've always loved it. I had a Glaswegian aunt called Ruby.

WayneEyre · 14/05/2025 14:48

I like it.

I think l the song association is an affable, fun one not a negative one.

user3879208717 · 14/05/2025 14:51

One of my relatives was Ruby, born about 1920. She was the loveliest lady, so the name has good associations for me. Only come across one or two young ones, so don’t think its over used.

DramaAlpaca · 14/05/2025 15:05

I think it's lovely.

SpringGreenOnion · 14/05/2025 15:08

I love it as I think it’s very old fashioned but in a good way.

MissMarplesGoddaughter · 14/05/2025 15:10

Sorry it just says ‘curry’ to me

BrightLightTonight · 14/05/2025 15:11

Love it - that was why I called my dog Ruby.

Reddelilah · 14/05/2025 15:11

I also find it dull from overuse. It feels like it was very popular a few years ago?

Pearl69 · 14/05/2025 15:12

Love the name but there are lots of them.

Sorry, but the only Ruby’s I’ve known are labradors.
