Middle name - Juliet/Jules?

We are due baby number two in a couple months. We don’t know what we’re having but boys name is secured, and a few options for girls first names - Harriet or Alice looking likely. We would like to choose a middle name that honors grandma -(Julie) but not a fan of Julie/Julia. I like Juliet but is it a bit much with Harriet? Would Jules work better? Or does anyone have any other Julie-based middle name options? Thanks!!

Julianne, perhaps?

SparkyBlue · 10/05/2025 21:28

It's a middle name. It will rarely or almost never be used. If you want to honour the name of grandma then use Julie or Julia. Both lovely names imo.

YellowGoldie · 10/05/2025 21:32

@SkaneTos I'm not so sure on Julianne. I like Juliana though, do you think that could work?
@SparkyBlue I understand that it’s a middle name. I frequently say my son’s middle name which I love so I want to make sure I feel the same way about this one. Plus, we have one grandma Julie and one Julia so would rather pick a different name that nods to both.

Harriet Julia or Alice Juliet.

Not Jules, it is either a nickname or a French boy's name.

Yes, Juliana would be nice.

Harriet Juliana is really nice. If you decide to use Harriet, Juliana is the middle name to choose, imo.

I love Alice Juliet.

Emanwenym · 11/05/2025 13:29

Giulietta?

Not Julianne please. All the Julies I know apart from 1 are Julie Anne.

Juliana is too long and ugly.

BootballJoy · 11/05/2025 14:21

Juliana is lovely. Or Julianna.

Pandimoanymum · 11/05/2025 14:30

I think Juliet is lovely, however if it’s a middle name and you’re set on honouring your relative I’d just go with Julie, even if you’re not keen. You’ll rarely use it and the older Julie will be delighted. I don’t think using Juliet/julianna/julienne or anything other than her actual name is ‘honouring’ her to be honest; her name is Julie, the other names are not that. You may as well use any old name as use those.

Juliana is a lovely name!
