Which boy's name?

Mama052025 · 08/05/2025 20:38

Baby number 2 due next week and we can't decide which name to go with ahh!

I've listed our (current) final choices below and would appreciate your votes or any other suggestions of names you think we might like.

Big sister is called Lilia (middle name Rose) so needs to go with that too.

TIA :)

Finn and Jude are my favourite names on the list. Love both. But I do think Oscar and Hugo both go well with Lilia. Sorry, that doesn’t narrow it down very much. But a great choice of names!

ninjahamster · 08/05/2025 20:42

I voted Jude but love Finn equally x

Moveoverdarlin · 08/05/2025 20:42

Jude would be my fave, followed by Hugo, Finn and Oscar respectively. I like all of them. Not keen on Ralph though.

PopThatBench · 08/05/2025 20:45

Lilia is three syllables so it sounds nicer with a shorter sibling’s name. I chose Finn (Lilia and Finn).
I’ve only ever known one Finn and he was a gentle boy with blonde hair, lovely name.

If you chose Finn for example, you could have his middle name slightly longer (Finn Everest for example).

Finn and Hugo are my favourites. Jude and Oscar are very popular where I live. 3 Oscars and 2 Jude’s in one class! No Hugo’s or Finn’s.

Pelicanos · 08/05/2025 20:54

Finn and Hugo are lovely but I think Finn goes better with Lilia.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 08/05/2025 21:06

Love Hugo

Hugo

Oscar
Finn
Ralph

I love Jude ☺️

CSR721 · 08/05/2025 21:33

Slightly biased as I have a Finley who also goes by Fin 🤭

LilyJosephine · 09/05/2025 00:04

Lilia is gorgeous. I’d be tempted by something like Laurence (Laurie) with it as a sibset. Or if you hate same initials then something like Felix, Ivo or Maxim for some reason.

But of your choices I think classically popular Oscar works best , with trendier Hugo my 2nd choice (although classic Hugh is much nicer imo).

Jude is super trendy and not my cup of tea (too celeb), Finn always feels like a surname or nickname to me and I’m afraid I’ve always disliked Ralph (reminds me of vomiting and a bit geeky).

nameobsessed · 09/05/2025 00:22

I chose Oscar, I think it’s classic, maybe a little overused, but still a really solid name that won’t date.

Hugo- love it as a middle name
Jude- also a middle name to me
Finn- feels unfinished or like a nickname
Ralph- I agree with PP, reminds me of vomit and doesn’t have a nice sound to it

Snoodley · 09/05/2025 00:24

Finn or Jude

Not keen on the others

mathanxiety · 09/05/2025 00:28

I voted Hugo but I love Oscar too.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 09/05/2025 00:45

I wanted Finn for DS3 but was overruled so I vote for that

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 09/05/2025 01:37

Oscar goes best I think

But they are all nice other than Ralph, which is like the yap of a small dog

BoleynMemories13 · 09/05/2025 05:50

Finn is my favourite, followed by Jude.

CurlewKate · 09/05/2025 06:09

Have you thought about Hugh rather than Hugo?

Zuve · 09/05/2025 06:17

Richard or John

Moreteaandchocolate · 09/05/2025 10:13

Oscar is my favourite, followed by Finn. Hugo is nice too. Jude is trendy so may date badly (and I still can’t help seeing it as a feminine name as I know a lot of Jude’s short for Judith). I know a lovely boy called Ralph, but the name still hasn’t really grown on me.

uncomfortablydumb60 · 09/05/2025 15:37

Yes, I’m a Judith, known as Jude!

AdaColeman · 09/05/2025 15:49

I voted for Hugo, but I also like Rafe.
