Please do not criticise, if you do not like the names please don’t comment.
38 weeks pregnant in this heat and still cannot decide between the two and my hormones are making me debate if either are even nice names.
which do you prefer?

Would you call Edison Eddie for short? If you don’t like either the there’s still plenty of time to to pick something else

I like Frank a lot more than Edison. Frank sounds cute on a baby/toddler/small child but equally is still perfectly fine for a teenager/grown adult.

But I am really not keen on names that sound like surnames, especially those that end in -son. So Edison was never going to be for me.

Edison nn Ned....

ToKittyornottoKitty · 30/04/2025 20:45

Id never have though Ned as a nick name, I think the nick name is important here OP 😅

MathsMagpie · 30/04/2025 20:46

LOVE them both. Edison is more unique.

Monsterstep · 30/04/2025 20:46

Oooh I had both on my long-list for a boy. I think I’d go Edison now as I like the potential shortenings and I’ve met a couple of Frank or Frankie’s at baby groups recently (this may not bother you, but I like underused names).

Edison shortened to Ed or Ned is lovely 💙

Another vote for Edison nn Ned!

Frank is a good name too though.

DappledThings · 30/04/2025 21:43

Francis with nickname Frank. Not Edison.

Bug90 · 30/04/2025 21:45

out of the two I’d go with Edison. I just think of Frank Butcher

AltitudeCheck · 30/04/2025 21:46

Like them both but Edison is the better of the 2.

Tbrh · 30/04/2025 21:50

What about Lincoln? It has the same vibe.

mummysmagicmedicine · 30/04/2025 23:24

Frank is cute!

Can be Frankie as a baby/child but still works for an adult too

BangersAndGnash · 30/04/2025 23:27

Frank

HugoYorway · 01/05/2025 08:56

Frank. Ned is awful. Ed is fine.

faerietales · 01/05/2025 08:56

Edison is really cute!

user1492757084 · 01/05/2025 14:46

Frank and called Frank.

Frankie for when he's pretending to be a cute puppy.

Viviennemary · 01/05/2025 14:48

Edison is beyond dire. Frank is OK but I'm not personally keen on it.,

PurpleChrayn · 01/05/2025 18:21

Both horrible.

ramonaquimby · 01/05/2025 18:22

How is Ned a nickname for Edison?

Frank is a great name.

Edison reminds me of the Madison /Harrison type names that used to be popular. It’s not awful.

JennyForeigner · 01/05/2025 19:34

I like Edison but then if I had another would be strongly tempted for a Franklin!
