Boy names like Theo / Oliver....

We like Jasper, Oliver, George, Theo, Ellis - but not sold on any. Any suggestions like this? Something that works internationally, ideally not much longer than these as got a long last name. Won't do middle name, hard enough finding one! No family names we like.

Would like something not too popular (I think Oliver and George are in top 10 but I am don't know any kids with these names, around here everyone is Otis and Apollo and Freddie!).

I feel Elias and Casper and Arlo are super common now? Like Oscar and Tristan though!

I’m not sure how popular Oliver is now but DD had 5 in her class out of 30 DC when she was in Primary.

Might be worth asking your MW if she’s met many recently for whichever names you’re thinking of as popularity of names can be very regional Smile

Oliver is the only one that is so overused around here that I wouldn’t use it (and Henry). Maybe it’s area specific. I love George and only know a couple (across the 3 big schools my children attend).

Max

Oscar
Luke / Luca
Leo

Agree on George. In all the time the two DC went through school there was only ever one.

George
Theodore - Todd

I know endless Oscars and George’s and Oliver’s. There are 6 George’s in my DC’s year at school.

BootballJoy · 27/04/2025 14:21

All those names are very popular round here apart from Ellis. Oscar is a good solid name but also very popular. I like the suggestion of Tristan, Otto and Rollo from PP. I also think Caspar is less popular than Jasper? It might be area-specific.

Maybe similar vibe but less popular (at least round here) - Daniel, Caleb, Finn, Gabriel, Raphael, Alistair, Inigo, Eric, Stefan, Magnus, Ewan, Evan, Owen, Aidan, Christopher (Kit), Rowan, Vincent.
