Franklin!

I considered Cassius for DS but couldn’t get past the meaning

Emanwenym · 18/04/2025 17:37

Cassius. Frank is OK but Franklin sounds wet.

Cassius is lovely. Someone mentioned it's meaning would be hard to stomach so I googled it: 'helmet' or 'vessel', or possibly, from another etymological angle, 'empty' or 'vain'. Honestly, I can think of worse meanings.

Otherwise, Thaddeus is a great name, meaning 'courageous heart'. I think it has a Cassius kind of vibe but a much more potent meaning.

Reddelilah · 19/04/2025 07:07

In Latin cassus means vain, empty. Not the worst meaning but not one I’d particularly choose if I had other options.

I know a Cassius (Cass) and he is adorable. Frankie is nice for a girl, but Franklin no for sure boy

Fioratourer · 19/04/2025 21:25

Both are lovely but Cass it would be for me.
