Your daughter will only be a set with her sisters for a couple of decades - then she will hopefully have another eight decades as an independent adult.

Giving her a name that is lovely and right for her is so much more important than choosing something because it is matchy matchy.

I believe a child should have a name that they could be proud of whatever walk of life they end up in - solicitor/judge/doctor or any job. I think that is true for your daughters names but not necessarily for names that you are scratching around for/making up just so they match.

It’s a middle name, which will rarely be used. I’m sure the OP is giving her daughter a name that is “right for her” as opposed to right for you or anyone else.

There are judges, doctors and solicitors with the most ridiculous names, because their parents chose a name they liked rather than trying to choose a career for their newborn. I assume in your opinion giving a child a daft name sets them on the road to the supermarket checkout or road sweeping - the horror!

I’m crying I hope this is real. Please don’t call your poor child Blanchette! Give her a nice normal name of her own.

Overtheatlantic · 10/04/2025 06:14

Tartiflette gives a legitimate reason to call her “Tart” for short. A winner in my book.

Highlighta · 10/04/2025 06:14

You have a Scarlett and a Violett (why the tt? )

So what about Scarvilett seeing as you are just making up names.

Although Regrette is my fave from the thread 🤣

Highlighta · 10/04/2025 06:19

Wait I have a better idea.

What is your DH name? . You can join yours and his together and that could be quite colourful.

Estbenett
Easterbonnett could be well timed

Just pick any colour and stick ‘ette’ on the end!

Okay then, I give you…
