I like all three - I voted for Ava, but would have picked Phoebe if popularity was an issue.

BoleynMemories13 · 04/04/2025 12:10

I love Ava and Phoebe (Phoebe is actually more popular around me, so you can't always tell from the stats alone).

I don't like Maisie, it's too babyish. Babies grow up. I wouldn't like to be Maisie, as an adult.

Emanwenym · 04/04/2025 12:23

I don't like Ava - it's dull and over-used. Maisie is a bit twee, but nice. Phoebe seems OK, bur maybe a bit popular.

ImthatBoleyngirl · 04/04/2025 12:28

Phoebe is really popular where I am. There were 3 in DD's (small) primary school class and loads in her high school. I agree that Maisie sounds a bit babyish. Ava is lovely.

ThePinkPowerRangers · 04/04/2025 13:07

Not Ava, please no more Avas!

Phoebe would be my choice but they’re all just overused girls names, tbh.

SkaneTos · 04/04/2025 22:43

They are all beautiful names!

I voted for Phoebe.

Emanwenym · 04/04/2025 23:31

@ThePinkPowerRangers , I agree about Ava. I don't see the appeal.

LilyJosephine · 05/04/2025 00:20

Ava for me. I don’t care about popularity as such, though I do wish that it wasn’t so trendy 😢 as that means it may date - but I love that it’s pretty, simple and elegant imo plus a cool palindrome to boot.

Maisie I find a bit too cute sounding (though I like simple May).

I suspect most on here will pick Phoebe of the 3 as it’s the most Mumsnet sort of name (classical, well used but without sounding that trendy) but I have an irrational dislike for the double “ee” sound - once in a name is fine but twice sounds whiny to my ears 🤣

Firsttimebabymummy · 05/04/2025 09:38

Pheobe.
I work in a nursery and there's loads of Ava's.

theunbreakablecleopatrajones · 05/04/2025 21:56

Phoebe just because the other two are so overdone

Although if she’s due in June, I’d think about just going for that

Pieceofpurplesky · 05/04/2025 22:47

I like all three names but I love Maisie. Certainly not twee for adults - see Maisie Renault and Maisie Mosco!
As a high school teacher I have always taught lovely Maisie’s
