A name like Linda but “younger”

I love the name Linda but it’s very 70s to me and makes me think of a 50-something woman rather than someone young

OP posts:

'Young Linda'

YourChirpyFatball · 01/04/2025 20:40

Anyone remember Yootha Joyce? That was an unusual name and a half.

BeakyFlinders · 01/04/2025 20:40

Linnet.

BeakyFlinders · 01/04/2025 20:41

Lucinda, nn Lindy.

pearbottomjeans · 01/04/2025 20:41

Lydia or Lucinda. Both surprising on a young child but suit an older child. Whereas if you were a Linda you’d probably have to wait til middle age to suit your name. Went to school with a Linda, she’s now 35 and still not there yet!

Waitingforspring77 · 01/04/2025 20:44

Lydia is gorgeous

Not quite the same sound at all but what about Laura?
Lara?
Lena?
Lisa?

I don’t know of any Linda’s in their fifties. I think that most of the ones I know are in their seventies.

I Agree. I went to school in the sixties with loads of Linda's. It definitely had gone out of fashion by the 70's.

I agree with this

Me too.
The Lindas I know are both Swedish , where it is a classic name. So I know one in her mid eighties and one in her late thirties.

All the Linda's I know are 90s babies! It's a nice name, I think you should go for it.

Love the name Lena, it was on my list this time but I had a boy. I also don't mind Lucinda.

I don't think you should go Rosalind, I know a few Rosalind, Roslin, Rosalin, Rosalie, Rosaleen.. people always get their names wrong unfortunately no matter how many times they are corrected.
