I love the name Linda but it’s very 70s to me and makes me think of a 50-something woman rather than someone young

I don’t know of any Linda’s in their fifties. I think that most of the ones I know are in their seventies.

Maybe controversial but i actually just love Linda as it is!

Valise · 01/04/2025 19:58

Linda was a very popular name given in the 1960s, so 60+ rather than 70+. Why not just choose Linda if you love it - you might even start a trend or if not the name will certainly not be common amongst classmates etc. Many of the alternatives suggested - eg Lynne - were also popular in the 60s or thereabouts so might as well just go with Linda.

If I had to suggest something loosely similar sounding how about Inga. Alternatively, Linde or Linden.

Linda was VERY popular among my age group, born 1960 so we're mid sixties now.

I think Linda - or Lindy is nice. Unlike Leanne.

BigBoysDontCry · 01/04/2025 20:05

I'm late 50s and know a lot of Lindas in my age group. I don't actually know many older than that. Having said that, sometimes things can be very regional.

I don't mind the thought of a baby Linda, the Lauras and Lynnes I know are more mid to early 50s

Lindy.
I was st school with a Lindy and she was a sweet kid.

I like Lindy too.

A baby called Linda would be adorable & she'd be different! A cute toddler called Linda. It's a great name. Go for it.

YourChirpyFatball · 01/04/2025 20:07

It's time to revive the 60s and 70s names.
