Oh I just commented on another thread that it was weird not to tell people your baby’s name until s/he was born.

I get it now. It’s because people like those on this thread exist.

It's an extremely good idea not to tell anyone the name until the baby is born because everyone will want to give their two pennyworth and you can be sure someone will say they don't like it and try to change your mind.
If you wait until the baby is born only the rudest type of person will criticise the name.

It's a just for fun thread, @Readingribbons . If you tell people the name before the baby is born you will get opinions like the ones on Baby Names threads. If you wait until after the baby is born and announce the name, most people will say it's lovely.

Many people won't know that a name is very popular or hardly used nowadays, because fashions change. What's popular also varies between regions.
The parents I know who have a Theo or Noah all chose the name because it was unusual.

If you discuss the name before the baby is born, someone who gives birth before you do will use it.

People who wouldn’t use certain names for their children? Yes, everyone is one of those people. Unless you would use every/any name for your children and have no preferences? No one will like every name, not even you. Thats all the thread is, no need to take offence.
