ok we have been through the baby names book yet again

dh still stuck on brodie, i do not like it
i like charlie but dh does not like

so far we can both agree on

alex
ashton
dominic

and that's about it but while dh is really keen on dominic i'm just not loving any of them

please help me before i spend the next 15 weeks obsessing about this name lark

we want something that isn't really popular but nothing too odd

I like your choice of Charlie best.

Don't like Dominic or Ashton - Alex is ok but just a bit ordinary

mustsleep · 14/05/2008 14:56

thanks that's what i thought but can;t seem to change dh's mind about charlie at all oh well back to the book

Dominic is good

I couldn't use Alex or Charlie (would have to be Alexander and Charles)

Ashton and Brodie are both too surnamey for me.

Benedict?

mustsleep · 14/05/2008 15:03

not keen on benedict as we would end up shortening it to ben (which i don;t mind but we know about 15 )

i liked bradley but that didn;t go ver well on here at all

and thomas but dh ot keen on that either arrrgghh

already have a poppy and a jamie

Nathan/Nathaniel - shortens to Nate, which I like.

Know what you mean though mustsleep, we're really struggling with names as well

dizzydixies · 14/05/2008 19:37

gabriel nn gabe?

mustsleep · 14/05/2008 19:49

OP posts:
EffiePerine · 14/05/2008 19:55

mustsleep, we are in the same position, as DH has vetoed all the boys names I like and is firmly suggesting Jocelyn (wtf?). Girls no prob - no idea which it is as still early days. I can see us still arguing about it at about 8 1/2 months!

Name I like but DH doesn't, the picky sod:

Gabriel
Gilbert
Victor
Wesley (shortened to Wes)
Alexander
Edgar
Edward
John
David
Maximilian

EffiePerine · 14/05/2008 19:56

If your DH likes Dominic, what about Brendan (to go with the Behan theme ?

Patrick I love and think would work well with our surname (DH, as you may have guessed, doesn't)

DiscoDizzy · 14/05/2008 19:57

Charlie, Alex or Dominic

EffiePerine · 14/05/2008 19:57

oh and James is a lovely name, but doesn't go with our surname at all (or at least the nickname doesn't) so it out

VoodooCoconut · 14/05/2008 20:01

Sebastian
Hugo
Leon
Asa
Robin
Tyler (Ty)
Harrison

cyteen · 14/05/2008 20:48

Isambard?
