Medi looks like something medical. I wouldn't use it unless the child was actually born in September and then only as a middle name. As a word meaning harvest, it's a verb not a noun. The noun for harvest is Cynhaeaf.
Theresa is thought to mean summer not September.

Baby name sites aren't reliable.

Just use Therese, Tracy or Fleur.

I do know two little girls with Medi as their first name, from Welsh-speaking families on one side or both. Though agreed, it's more common as a middle name.

I know that with the meaning "to harvest" it's a verb - I do speak Welsh - but then so is one possible origin of the name Theresa, the Greek θερίζω (therízō) "to harvest or reap".

The thing is that i want to name it something related to saint therese but not therese as it is something similar

Theresa of Avila or Theresa of Lisieux?

Carmel as they were both Carmelite nuns?

SwankyPants · 27/03/2025 11:36

Not quite, but what about Thea?

ODFOx · 27/03/2025 12:08

I came on to say Fleur. She was known as The Little Flower of Jesus I think.

Thermopalye
Therapiste
Thermomette

Thermypalye is one of those names that would be great for a child if it wasn't an iconic battle! I may nick it for a cat.

GingerLiberalFeminist · 27/03/2025 17:59

If it's like Terese with a hard t then,
Tina

hereismydog · 27/03/2025 18:33

I read it completely wrong, sorry!

H7529 · 27/03/2025 18:35

More context needed, but if it’s supposed to be related to /similar sounding to Theresa then I think the suggested Terra or Tessa are your best options

The thing is that i want to name it something related to saint therese but not therese as it is something similar

Finding a name that starts with Ther but isn't therese means the name is not connected to saint therese at all. Either pick therese or a name with the same meaning. ChatGPT suggests Chloe, autumn or sita.

Not quite, but what about Thea?

Oh, I adore Thea!

MummytoE · 27/03/2025 18:48

Read a book at school with main character Terisita... Might that work

Eileen101 · 27/03/2025 18:52

Disneyvillain · 27/03/2025 19:22

Therona. Means huntress and not related to any saint, but starts with Ther.

TheodoraCrumpet · 27/03/2025 19:31

Unbeleevable · 27/03/2025 08:24

Thelma
Theodora

Theodora is actually rather lovely

It really is.
Wasn't Thera a Minoan island that was obliterated by a giant volcano or something? It's an option if you're really sold on Ther... Any chance you could say why? It might help with further suggestions.

SamuelDJackson · 27/03/2025 19:46

Therian (but she might be a bit of an animal)
Thermistor (she might resist this)
Thereandbackagain (nickname Bilbo)

more seriously
Thera
Therica
Therona
