I think Candida was a name - Candy was short for it.

I quite like Ulna!

Yes I went to school in the 60’s with a Candida, and Tony Orlando and Dawn had a song about Candida.

There was a St Candida so the name was really popular in Ireland at one point. My mother's friend (born round 1948) worked with three sisters, Candida, Assumpta and Concepta.
I think I'd prefer Rubella, at least you could shorten to Ruby!

Brie

That one's already in use - although usually spelled Bree.

Isn't there a famous American actress called that? I presume she specialises in cheesy 1-star Channel 5 Christmas movies?!

I love the idea of ‘Sumatra’ as a name, but I think it sounds too similar to ‘kama sutra’!

Compromise with Satsuma?!

Would you emphasize the second syllable in Gra-VELLE? I think it's more stylish than way.

DD is convinced there’s a boy in her nursery group called Tortoise, which has grown on me (I think he’s Thomas).

My son went to school with a Garage (Gareth) 😆

For ages our youngest called himself “Ahhh” as he couldn’t say Alex. My dad still calls him that now and he’s 18. 😁
