Ottilie, Isadora, Olympia or Allegra?

OP posts:

All terrible. Isadora is about the best of a bad bunch, at least it can be shortened to Izzy or Dora

KnickerlessParsons · 20/03/2025 18:21

None of them, unless your royal or nobility.
Lady Allegra or Princess Isadora would be ok, but otherwise, no.

KnickerFolder · 20/03/2025 18:24

I love them all but I think Ottilie has had its moment and will date more than the others. You might want to consider that Ottilie and Olympia have different pronunciations in their language of origin, Ottili-ya and Oly-bea.

Flozle · 20/03/2025 18:25

Ottillie 😍

Rosybud88 · 20/03/2025 18:29

Ottilie and Allegra are like nails on a chalk board for me.

Olympia is chefs kiss and whilst I like Isadora I could take it or leave it.

These all sound like injection

Yeah different brands of weight loss injections lol

Neetra30 · 20/03/2025 18:47

@Sunflowers1999 what about Otilia?

Isadora is gorgeous.

Ignore the people who are suggesting you should know your place. It's not 1910 any more.

I was going to say something like this. Someone else has said that they are “aspirational” names - that is okay, it is nice to have aspirations for our children.

17caterpillars1mouse · 20/03/2025 19:58

I like Isadora. Isadora Moon is a cool character

Its horse shoe theory, those names sound extremely "posh" but try too hard and it also sounds "ghetto"
Examples being Chantelle.

Best to just stick to basic boring names like jack, Charlie, lily, Rosie etc

Sorry to suck the joy out of everything

HugoYorway · 21/03/2025 10:14

Ottilia the Hun?

Dustmylemonlies · 21/03/2025 22:37

All waaay too frilly for my taste...

NomNomNominativeDeterminism · 21/03/2025 22:58

Just here to post a tribute to Ottilie Patterson

Hmmm…
I actually know people with all of these names so perhaps live in a similar place to you if you’re considering them all…
honestly I hate them all but I think Otillie is the most popular and try hard…I know 4 under the age of 10

DemBonesDemBones · 22/03/2025 22:17

Allegra is beautiful and can be shortened to Allie, Aggie or Gigi.

But would you happily get up on a horse called Fang?

Dude give it up it wasn't that funny the first time.

Why not leave them be? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Because if they're wrong and the OP is genuinely wanting help for baby names, not horses names, they're being spiteful and petty.

@Sunflowers1999 what about Otilia?

Something very eardrop or hearing aid like about that. I wouldn't

tuesdayschildish · 23/03/2025 18:01

OP might be incredibly posh anyway. Who knows online
