Due a boy soon, surname starts with R, which of these would you go for?

They are all nice names but I maybe wouldn't go for Alexander because it ends with R.

I think Joseph R- and Benjamin R- flow better than the others.

Emanwenym · 18/03/2025 09:55

All the names are nice. Joshua will be Josh and Alexander will get shortened. Try each one with the surname and see which sounds best.
Joey is the one I like least, but he might suit one of the names when you meet him.

sel2223 · 18/03/2025 10:13

My favourites are Ben, Alexander and Samuel

Lavablue · 18/03/2025 10:37

I love all these names apart from Joshua, just because there seem to be so many of them around! My favourites are Joseph, Samuel and Benjamin.

Benjamin, I would choose.

Moreteaandchocolate · 18/03/2025 12:30

All are lovely names. I voted for Ben, but Joseph / Joey and Samuel are close seconds.

SkaneTos · 18/03/2025 14:01

They are all good names!
I voted for Samuel.

Comedycook · 18/03/2025 14:05

We have similar taste...I like Ben, Samuel and Joseph best... I'd probably go for Ben

Benjamin or Samuel.

Nice list of names.

BoleynMemories13 · 18/03/2025 15:53

All handsome classics. If Joseph was shortened to Joe it would get my vote, but I realise dislike Joey.

I went for Samuel nn Sam, second choice Benjamin nn Ben. The other two are ok but, as you don't list nn options for those, I'm guessing you're not keen on the short forms? You're unlikely to avoid 3 or 4 syllable names being shortened, so I wouldn't go for either of those unless you like the usual shortenings.

okydokethen · 18/03/2025 15:56

All nice. Ben or Joe are my favourites.

CarpetKnees · 18/03/2025 16:36

What a lovely change, to have a whole list of lovely names to offer opinions on.

However, I'm not help as I like them all Grin

shoopshoopdedoo · 19/03/2025 00:58

All are nice, though I’m not keen on Joey as a diminutive.

Alexander is my favourite, followed by Benjamin.

Berlinlover · 19/03/2025 01:00

I love all those names especially Alexander.

based in how I pronounce Alexander this would be fine as it ends more in an a sound.

alexander is my fave closely followed by Joshua. I do also really like Joey but don’t like Joseph.
