I have a LB called Archie and a LG called Marnie already. We’re expecting baby number 3, another girl, in a few weeks and can’t decide on a name! Archie was after my partners dad so was always set and we loved Marnie early on so that was another easy choice but this time we’re struggling to find anything that we love as much.

So far we have
Maeve - current favourite but not sure if it’s too “old” sounding compared to the other tqo
Delilah - like but still not 100% sure
Dulcie - partner doesn’t like this one as much as he’s not heard of it before

Any opinions or ideas would be welcomed!

Maeve and Delilah are both lovely. I think Maeve sounds great with the others.

Not keen on Dulcie, never heard of it but presume first but is pronounced Dull which I don't like.

I think Dulcie sounds best with your current set but isn't my personal favourite. I like Maeve best, and wouldn't say it has to go with siblings, but from experience matching initials in a family can be really annoying for post and admin. But if you don't love them keep looking! Seems like you like nickname names and ones ending in ie so how about:

Betty
Dotty
Effie
Etta
Nellie
Sylvie
Bronte
Elodie
Elsie
Cleo
Sadie
Tess
Romy
Remi

I like Maeve - I think it goes nicely with Archie and Marnie, as long as you don’t mind the same initials. Dulcie is quite nice too. I prefer Lilah / Lila to Delilah.

Darcey
Lara
Lyra
Hallie
Callie
Romy
Eden
Seren
Heidi
Bella
Thalia
Kaia
Erin
Kiera
Thea
Zara
Nyla
Elowen
Nia
Hattie

It depends if you want the third name match the other two or not. Do you want another -ie ending or three is too much?

From your names Dulcie goes best, similar vintage style as the other two.

How about Dolcie rather than Dulcie

Mumofgirls2017 · 16/03/2025 12:02

I like the options but would avoid same initials with Maeve and Dulcie is too similar sounding to Archie imo. I like Delilah. Other ideas; Archie, Marnie and

edie
pearl
betsy
cora
tabitha
elsie
sadie
nora
stella
hazel
beatrix
connie
emmeline
polly

Naree.
Earther.
Violet.
Fadel.

I think Delilah goes best, as it's both a different first initial and different end sound to names you've used before.

Dulcie is my favourite though.

Thanks everyone!

I hadn’t thought about issues with the girls having the same initials if we went for Maeve but it’s something to think about.

Some lovely suggestions for me to try with my partner though!
