Adonis
Jim

Dotty

Adonis has a lot to live up to - ‘he was the ideal of male beauty in classical antiquity.’

Jim is a usual nickname for James, Old people like me may remember Jim-Bob from The Waltons.

Dotty used to be a standard nickname for Dorothy. I think Dot or Dorry are more usual now, or Thea for Dorothea.

@adcde123 it’s quite common in the North East where Robson Green is from for sons to be given their mothers maiden surname as a first or middle name. Or often there is a family surname name that gets used for sons. My late FIL also had a family surname as his middle name. As an aside my late DM absolutely loved Robson Green. She used to always say ‘that nice Robson Green’ so every time I see him on telly I say it now.

In my son's footy team. For weeks I thought his dad was shouting "run, Nike!"

@Runnersandtoms
Regards Thomasina, my grandparents were from Isle of Lewis, it was common for a girl to have an adaption of her fathers name, Thomas would become Thomasina, Norman would be Norma or Normana , Donaldina, Adamina etc
