Baby brother for Reid

I am 36 weeks pregnant and I’m still not set on a name for our baby boy. His big brother is called Reid, surname also starts with R and is a really cool and rare surname.

We have been calling him Noel for months but I’m just not 100% and I think I let other peoples opinions of the name get to me. When I think of it I think of a cool boy vibe like Noel Gallagher but then other peoples first thought is Noel Edmund’s and that’s not our vibe. I do really like Noel but think i need a really cool and quirky middle name to go with it.

I also like Robin but I don’t like that it’ll get shortened to Rob. I guess our vibe is traditional/normal names that you don’t hear often. I really don’t want anything common but I also don’t want anything that’s trying too hard.

So I’m looking for two suggestions, a really cool middle name to go with Noel, or a totally different name that would go well with Reid.

I like Noel! Stick with that. Everyone knows it but it’s not too popular. A more common name such as Robin would be an odd pairing with Reid, I think. I’ve never heard of Reid as a first name until I read your post so it must be quite unusual!

Noel is a great name. I think of Noel Coward before either of the two you mentioned - witty and stylish. Also the son of Penelope in The Shell Seekers. I'd stick with Noel.

I’m really liking Weston as a first name, think Reid and West sound super cool together. Husband quite likes it too! Also really like Guy, think it’s exactly the same vibe as Reid!

I really don’t like Noel sorry. I get an older vibe off that whereas Reid is a really cool and different name.

Do you like Cole? I think Reid & Cole go nicely and is similar sound to Noel.
