Girls:

Mavie/Maivie/Maevy - surely just call her Maeve so she has a proper name and then you can shorten it however you like?

Everleigh - don't like the name or the spelling, sorry.

Novabella - this just sounds made up. Again can you just call her Nova and shorten to Novie?

Boys names are fine but all pretty popular - not sure if that bothers you?

I don't really like your list. I think Everly is fine, and so is boys list, but wouldn't choose any myself.

KevinAndTracy · 05/02/2025 11:32

I don't like any of your girls names sorry. They all look and sound a bit made up/ try hard.

Rory is lovely. I like Frankie but would put Frank or Francis on the birth certificate. I'm less keen on Ronnie but it's not awful.

Notgivenuphope · 05/02/2025 11:36

Hate them all, sorry. But I hate all 'ie' names and Novabella sounds like an Italian restaurant.

lurkerchan · 05/02/2025 11:49

Mavie is alright but a bit nicknamey, maybe you could go with Mavis instead?
Everleigh is ok though looks made up, Novabella works better as just Nova.

I like your boys names, they do work as full names.

WaltzingWaters · 05/02/2025 11:54

Just Maeve (then nn as you’d like)
Everly spelling
Just Nova.

Boys names are all fine. Rory would be my pick.

shoopshoopdedoo · 05/02/2025 12:08

Rory is a lovely name. I also like Frank/Francis with Frankie as a nickname.

I can’t think of anything very positive to say about the girls names. Maeve is nice, and you could call her Maevie, perhaps?

JudgeBread · 05/02/2025 12:11

The boys names are all cute, the girls names honestly made me think this was a joke list and I was going to see Balonz somewhere. Sorry 😬

Maeve is pretty? Nova is also nice and a bit unusual without sounding too much like the protagonist of a YA distopian novel? I can't do anything with Everleigh, it's a tragedeigh.

RuthW · 05/02/2025 12:13

I like Everleigh. Don’t like the others.

Comedycook · 05/02/2025 12:15

Maevy is awful...either go for Maisie or Maeve...

Novabella is equally awful....Nova and Bella are both nice names though.

AubernFable · 05/02/2025 12:18

Mavie (open to different spellings ie Maivie, Maevy) - Agree with PP with Maeve, those are nicknames.
Everleigh - Very american so not to my taste- Evelina is pretty.
Novabella (nickname Novie) - I don’t like either but Nova is much netter than Novabella or Novie. Novalie, and Novina are slightly less wacky alternatives.

boys-
Ronnie- Nickname as a first name but in this case its better than Ronald. You could use Ronan.
Rory- Is okay.
Frankie- Francis or Franklin on the BC for sure.

hummingbird12 · 05/02/2025 12:20

Marve is much better. You can call her Maevie as a NN.
Everly is a much nicer spelling "Leigh" on the end of names make it look tacky imo.

Novabella is just a made up work. Sorry op but it's nonsense. Imagine her as a 30 year old woman called novabella? It doesn't work.
Nova or Novie are much nicer.

But it's your baby of course 😆
All the boys are okay names.

HugoYorway · 05/02/2025 12:20

Mavie - awful
Everleigh - looks like a house name or insurance company
Novabella - awful

Ronnie - fine
Rory - fine but only if you can say R
Frankie - Frank is fine

hummingbird12 · 05/02/2025 12:21

I meant Maeve not like marv from home alone 😆😅

I agree, I think Novabella would suit a cat more than a person.

bluebunnys · 05/02/2025 13:41

I don't like any of those names. I find the boys names too cutesy and Rory is impossible to pronounce for those struggling with their Rs (Wowy)

HundredPercentUnsure · 05/02/2025 13:42

Rory or Everleigh, at a push. The rest are awful sorry

Moveoverdarlin · 05/02/2025 13:42

I don’t like any of them, Everleigh is particularly awful. Novabella sounds like a cartoon character.

MegTheForgetfulCat · 05/02/2025 13:53

Mavie - awful. Maeve is OK, or possibly Mavis if you want Mavie as a nickname.
Everleigh - sounds like a car tyre company or something. spell it Everly if you are going to use this. Look up "tragedeigh" names to see why...
Novabella (nickname Novie) - just no. There are plenty of lovely names out there, no need to name your child Novie.

Sorry to be blunt but you did ask for opinions!

Ronnie - not to my taste but it's OK. I know a little Lenny too which is quite cute, and his full name is Leonard so it works for an adult too.
Rory - ok but tricky for a young child to say.
Frankie - I like this. I'd choose Francis or Franklin as full name with Frankie as NN.

Chuchoter · 05/02/2025 14:13

Mavie - diabolical. Maeve is better.

Everleigh - Dreadful.

Novabella - ridiculous!

boys-

Ronnie - ok if used as a nickname and given the actual name of Ronald.

Rory - quite a nice name and not in keeping with the other ludicrous suggestions!

Frankie - ok if used as a nickname and given the actual name of Frank.

Raininginparadise2 · 05/02/2025 14:36

Only like Maeve or Rory.

Catandsquirrel · 05/02/2025 14:47

Awful sorry.

Maeve or Mavis, fine.

I dislike Everly whatever the spelling. Everleigh is naff.

Novabella? Don't be silly.

Boys, Rory is fine.

Francis is nice. I don't like Frankie as a full name but ok as a short form for a little boy. Fran is much nicer or Frank is ok but not to my taste.

Not a fan of Ronnie as a full name. Ronald, really not to my taste either but ok, it's a name.

StormingNorman · 05/02/2025 14:50

Everly is lovely. Everleigh is a Tragedeigh.

Rory is my favourite of the boys names.

StormingNorman · 05/02/2025 14:51

Novabella sounds like an asteroid 🙈

Moreteaandchocolate · 05/02/2025 15:27

Mavie - lovely as a nn for Maeve
Everleigh - like if spelt Everly
Novabella (nickname Novie) - not keen - Nova nn Novie is ok

Ronnie - ok - not a favourite
Rory - love
Frankie - nice - prefer Frank nn Frankie
