Hi
I am looking for some alternatives to these names or names we may like if this is what we like, we cannot use these as they’re either very common where we are and we prefer unique names, or we can’t use because we know someone with this name. DH is a teacher which doesn’t help things🙈.

Ivy
Freya
Florence
Ottilie
Matilda/Tillie
Margot
Charlotte
Emilia
Clara
Rosa

Felix
Theodore
Arthur
Jasper
Albie (Albert)
Jude
Connor

Honestly OP, just go with what you like. In reality having a relatively common name or knowing someone with your child’s name really does not matter.

The only name on this list that isn’t popular near me is manon. I really think you should just call your baby your favourite name. Names are popular for a reason. If it’s unpopular there is probably a reason for that too.

to be fair Manon is a lovely name 🥰

@mummysmagicmedicine Love your lists! I considered all of them when I was pregnant. We had a little girl and went with Nina. She is 2.5 now and most people comment on how lovely it is. Quite uncommon but not wackySmile

I was thinking of names the other day because someone asked.

I like Martha and Heidi and Anna.

For a boy I like Daniel or Stanley.

That was about all I came up with I'm afraid, and I guess not particularly unique.

Marylou2 · 30/01/2025 20:18

I like Xanthe and Felicity. Jens or Nils for a boy.

Manson?

BornSandyDevotional · 30/01/2025 20:56

Oh yes, Nina is beautiful, elegant, unusual without being self consciously quirky, and it suits a little girl and a grown-up woman.
