I can't decided which way round to have the names? Also his surname starts with an R if that helps, I'm not sure if double R will be a problem?

Based on the fact you rarely say the middle name do you prefer Rory or Alex?

So Rory "r" surname maybe a bit much?

I'm biased!

SkaneTos · 28/01/2025 22:15

Both great names!

What are you going to call him - Rory, or Alexander, or both?

steelingmyself · 28/01/2025 22:17

Great name!

fruitypancake · 28/01/2025 22:19

Love it !

Ohlawdnotagain · 28/01/2025 22:20

Rory Alexander is really lovely 👏

Rory Alexander, sounds perfect!

WellsAndThistles · 28/01/2025 23:08

I prefer Alexander first with you having an R surname.

E.g Alex Roberts is easier than Rory Roberts which has too many rrrrr's.

Love both names though.

(Would initials ARR sound a bit piratey though?).

shoopshoopdedoo · 28/01/2025 23:10

I like both, but prefer Alexander.

No one will regularly use or even know the middle name, so pick the first name you like best/that sounds best with your surname.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 29/01/2025 03:32

Both are nice and sound great together so it depends if you prefer Rory or Alexander. Tough call: I would probably go Alexander but also like Rory

This!

I assumed Alexander was the surname.

But perhaps a R surname sounds less good?

sel2223 · 29/01/2025 08:33

On the face of it I prefer Rory Alexander but I'm really not a fan of the double initial thing 'RR', some people love it though so it's probably just me

By the time he's at school, and then for most of his life, very few people will know his middle name other than close family.

So I agree with PP saying just choose the first name that you prefer.
