Elsy or Eira?

Love girl names that start with "E", but which one is nicest: Elsy or Eira?

(Don't like the -ie ending of Elsie)

Elsy will always be correcting spelling.

Elsy puts me in mind of palsy.

Elsie is nice, but I prefer Eira.

Both awful (especially Elsy with that spelling).

I really like Eira - considering it as middle name for DC2 if a girl!

Neither, sorry. Eira looks like it woupd be pronounced a bit like 'error'. Elsy is spelled wrongly.

Elsy looks wrong. How do you pronounce Eira? Eye-ra or Aye-ra? I'd think again.

I assumed you couldn't spell, hence writing it Elsy! Elsie is lovely, Elsy is awful and a lifetime of 'No, its spelt ELSY' 🙄

How is Eira pronounced? Eye-Ra? I had thought this was a boys name, but that might be written Ira?

Elsie is nice with that spelling. Eira makes me think of Éire (Ireland), doesn't seem the nicest of girls names!

Ay-ra in North Wales and Eye-ra in South Wales. It means Snow ❄️

For some reason Elsy looks like it's pronounced Elzee not Elsie. I'm not keen on it.

I like Eira but only pronounced Ayra.

I prefer Elsy as it looks prettier than Eira but that's because we have Eira in my language and I never liked it ana it sounds harsh.

I love Eira but I’m welsh so know how it should be pronounced (def not eye-ra)

so unless in wales I’d steer clear.

i have a longer name and am sometimes called Elsy as a nn but it is pronounced elzee not Elsie which I gather is not what you’re after
