Which sounds better for our baby girl? 🩷

Hi all! I am 32 weeks pregnant with baby no 2, a little girl to join her big brother who will be 3 this year. The middle name Daisy is set in stone and we have managed to narrow down our baby girl’s first name to a choice of 3. We don’t want to discuss our name choices with friends and family ahead of baby girls arrival but would love a second opinion!

Please help! Thank you 😊

I voted Nora but love Nora and Alma, so would pick whichever works best with your surname. Lila is nice too but would be my third choice.

BootballJoy · 20/01/2025 12:09

Alma and Nora both nice, I voted Alma.

Moreteaandchocolate · 20/01/2025 12:16

Lila is my favourite, but all 3 are nice.

sel2223 · 20/01/2025 12:17

Not Alma.

All I hear is 'I'm a daisy'

I voted Nora but not a huge fan of daisy as a middle name - would you not consider it as a first name?

MaltipooMama · 20/01/2025 12:20

I'm on the app so can't vote, but we are planning on calling our impending baby girl Lila (or Lilah specifically is how we're spelling it!) so obviously I want to go with this as my favourite 😊 Daisy is also on my shortlist of middle names so I may well end up with exactly the same name!

MiddleAgedDread · 20/01/2025 13:20

I voted for Nora because I like it the most as a first name but I don't think any of them particularly flow well with Daisy because of the "a" on the end. It's a bit too "upsy daisy" sounding for me. Alma is a nice name but I think @sel2223 makes a very good point about Alma Daisy!

bluebunnys · 20/01/2025 13:22

Where are the names? Confused

Yes!! I think that's what it is with the 'a' ending names not sounding quite right with daisy!

It's too like 'upsa daisy'

JessyCarr · 20/01/2025 15:32

I voted for Lila - but if Daisy had been a first name option I’d have gone for that.

mum1345 · 20/01/2025 18:59

I think Lila Daisy sounds best out of the 3.

Alma Daisy doesn't flow to well..

SkaneTos · 20/01/2025 23:15

I voted for Alma Daisy, but they are all lovely names!

Mirabai · 20/01/2025 23:16

I prefer Daisy to all the options. Daisy Lila.

CrowleyKitten · 20/01/2025 23:35

yeah, I think Daisy as a first name, with one of those just sounds better.

Emanwenym · 21/01/2025 06:58

Daisy is much nicer than your first names. I like Lila the least as it's so nothingy, Nora isn't all that pretty, and Alma is just about OK.

I'd look at how the first name and surname go together.

user1492757084 · 21/01/2025 07:07

I voted Lila Daisy.

Have you thought of Camilla Daisy

This!

Maxorias · 22/01/2025 02:06

I like Nora best from your list but I think I'd use a longer name like Leonora. But Nora is also fine as a standalone name.

Thank you all so much for your votes and comments, it’s really appreciated, sometimes you go down a rabbit hole with names don’t you do is good to see what other people think.

We love Nora but our surname begins with a V so have niggling issue that it might be associated with noravirus… 🙈 or maybe we’re just completely overthinking things.

Eliza is another name we have also put in the mix since this poll was made.

My favourite name there by far is Daisy!

SkaneTos · 27/01/2025 11:30

I would never ever think "norovirus" just because someone is called Nora V.
I think you are overthinking.
Nora is a beautiful name!

Eliza is a very pretty name, too.

Emanwenym · 27/01/2025 12:11

I would.

Eliza is ok but I prefer it short for Elizabeth.

Moreteaandchocolate · 27/01/2025 12:41

Mostly she’ll be Nora or Nora+full surname - she won’t be “Nora V” day to day so I wouldn’t worry about the norovirus thing myself.

Eliza is gorgeous too.

sel2223 · 27/01/2025 13:00

Eliza is lovely but again, not with Daisy.... it's the 'z' sound in both makes it not flow right

PortiasBiscuit · 27/01/2025 13:00

I’m no use, I like them all.
