Alexandra.

KiLeigh might be ok for a Wombat but not as a child's name in the U.K.

😂😂😂😂

IButtleSir · 14/01/2025 08:36

For the sake of your child, please go with Alexandra.

inUSA · 14/01/2025 08:41

Thank you ..
I like Alexandra too
Kileigh my fave.
Yes I know this site is from Europe by the way my relatives originally were from there. Scotland, Germany, France,, and Ireland.
Thank you.

Alexandra is lovely. Please don’t inflict Kileigh on the child.

IButtleSir · 14/01/2025 09:10

Why do white Americans always tell people where their ancestors were from? I've never met anyone from any other country who does this.

I don’t think KiLeigh (however pronounced) would be popular in any of those countries.

sel2223 · 14/01/2025 09:30

Is that second one a typo? What even is that name? It's awful

Alexandra 💯

MrsS11 · 14/01/2025 10:04

If you're looking for something that reflects your heritage maybe Kayleigh? Also traditionally spelt ceilidh but pronounced the same. Pretty common Scottish name.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/01/2025 10:04

Alexandra is gorgeous. It also lends itself to so many nick names.

I also saw what I’m assuming must be Kylie as Killy. If you do want to go for it then I’d say change the spelling to a way that will be pronounced correctly. You can still be creative with the spelling it doesn’t have to be Kylie maybe replaced the I for a Y or Kylee.

Nextyearhopes · 14/01/2025 10:06

Alexandra is beautiful. Sadly she won’t stay as that for long…

PumpkinScarf · 14/01/2025 10:08

Have you considered KlaMydia hun

BlackChunkyBoots · 14/01/2025 10:08

I always thought Kayleigh was a made up name rather than a derivative of ceilidh.

I've never seen anyone use 'ceilidh' as an actual name. Why not go for BarnDance, SalsaNight or Ballroom instead? 😁

Because I think this post is designed to provoke outraged responses.

It is a joke post, but also, Americans of any colour are allowed to be interested in their heritage. I have Canadian relatives who are very interested in their Scottish roots. Lots of parts of N America have cultural or linguistic links to particular countries.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 14/01/2025 10:22

I strongly feel you should go for KiLeigh, and I am also 100% sure you are genuinely considering it as a name for your baby which definitely exists.

Congratulations!

I dont really like either but the second is awful.

WelcomeToMonkeyTown · 14/01/2025 06:36

I'm just shocked that someone would choose both those names and they're complete opposites.

One is timeless, classic and and elegant.

The other looks like someone taking an already not-great name and trashing it even further.

This!! 😂😂😂

AuntieStella · 14/01/2025 10:41

I don't think starting of with "kil" is great

If that's the one you want to go for, then I suggest spelling it Kylie, Kylee or Kyleigh, or even changing a bit to Kayleigh

I’m Scottish. I’d bet good money you won’t find a single KiLeigh here, so I wouldn’t let that sway your decision.

PurpleChrayn · 14/01/2025 10:43

KiLeigh is so classy and elegant.

Alexandra is really common and trashy.

Oh God now I've got to go and listen to Kayleigh. Cheers 🤣
