I love the name Cory/Corey but it's quite unpopular so I just wanted to know what others think of it? Also what spelling would you use?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
GoodVibesHere · 13/01/2025 22:24

I like it. Corey is a much nicer spelling.

VenusClapTrap · 13/01/2025 22:27

Makes me think of Flowers in the Attic. That’s going back a bit though.

Aglassaday · 13/01/2025 22:32

Not my personal taste but still a lovely name! Works for all ages and known but not too common or rare so if you like it go for it OP! X
i personally like the Corey spelling but which do you prefer?

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 13/01/2025 22:38

Not my own cup of tea as I find it a bit 80’s sounding somehow, but absolutely nothing wrong with it as such - it’s very similar to currently popular Rory after all (and I love similar sounding but rare Orry).

I personally prefer the simplicity of the Cory spelling but I think more of the famous ones use the Corey one? (and I’d always go for the most popular spelling to make his life easier).

CalliopePlantain · 13/01/2025 22:41

It’s slang for penis where I’m from, which is a shame as it’s a nice name otherwise. Like PP it reminds me of poor little Cory Dollenganger from flowers in the attic.

MyDeepZebra · 13/01/2025 22:42

It's a name I relate to a lot of sadness/tragedy...Corey Haim and Monteith and the other one that has tried to expose the Hollywood Paedophile Rings that he and Corey Haim were victims of.

Corey is a better spelling that Cory which people might pronounce like Lorry or Corrie.

Moreteaandchocolate · 13/01/2025 22:59

Ooh I haven’t heard that one in a while - there were quite a few around back in the 90’s but not enough to make it sound very dated to that era, I don’t think. Good name 👍

mathanxiety · 13/01/2025 23:07

Dated - very 80s.

puffylovett · 13/01/2025 23:09

It’s a lovely name, my nephew is a Corey. Quite unusual too. His dad often sings ‘snorey Corey tell me a story’ which I just love!
I also like Cody.

nottoplan · 13/01/2025 23:13

Sorry but it’s an awful name
Vulgar slang for penis

Geranyums · 13/01/2025 23:14

Is this for a boy or girl?

I only know female Coreys

user1492757084 · 14/01/2025 00:33

Corey

WellsAndThistles · 14/01/2025 00:35

I like it and haven't heard of it being used as an alternative to John-Thomas!

Corey for a boy or Corrie for a girl 😀

KnickerlessParsons · 14/01/2025 01:08

I just think of the Cory Band

redbokoblin · 14/01/2025 19:03

It makes me think of an 80's/90's American teen TV show - Corey, Harvey, Cooper, Cody, Taylor - all the same sort of vibe to me.

Firsttimebabymummy · 14/01/2025 19:18

I like it. There's a lovely Corey at my nursery.

SunshineAndFizz · 14/01/2025 19:35

80s American - I put it in the same camp as Chad, Hank and Cole.

moonshinepoursthroughmywindow · 19/01/2025 22:03

It's not really my style but I like rather than dislike it, and would probably advise going with the Corey spelling, as I think it's more common so people are more likely to get it right.

DazedAndConfused321 · 19/01/2025 22:06

Cory is my favourite spelling, I'm biased because it's my husband's name though. I think it suits many personalities, is unusual but not weird, older but not dated.

michelle292429 · 23/01/2025 07:19

I have a Corey.. he's 16 now and I only know one other Corey but not a similar age..x
