Both are nice (but I'm biased in favour of Alexander)!

Ds has no complaints, anyway.

AbbeyA · 02/05/2008 22:03

Prefer Alexander but you can always shorten it to whatever suits the little one as they grow, they can be Alex, Alexei or up here in scotland Sandy!

Just promise us never to ponce a lovely name to Zander. hate it hate it hate it!

dinny · 03/05/2008 00:22

I love Lex as a short version

Finona · 03/05/2008 01:50

Alexander. Unless you're in Eastern Europe or have family connections to that part of the world.
Sorry, toomuch etc - in NE Scotland Zander is not common but not unusual IYKWIM! I quite like it!

1dilemma · 03/05/2008 01:51

(Alexander is Boris J's first name!)

BabieWabbit · 03/05/2008 02:05

Alexi

BabieWabbit · 03/05/2008 02:05

*Alexei

Eleta · 03/05/2008 12:25

I'm glad most people seem to like it.
I was thinking more with Alexei of the sexy rich farmer on Dirty Cows, but think I will go with Alexander as there are more options. I am not keen on Zander but like Alex and Al.

What do you think of Charles as a middle name with it?

OP posts:
Blandmum · 03/05/2008 12:51

Alexander, you can call him Alex or Alexi as a pet name, and he can still have a 'formal' name

VictorianSqualor · 03/05/2008 12:56

I think Alexander is a wonderful name, absoltuely perfect for any little boy, in fact I may know someone who has such great taste they used it themselves, less than three weeks ago

VictorianSqualor · 03/05/2008 12:57

I like Alexander Charles, goes well together.
