Which UK 🇬🇧 boy name?

I am British and my partner is British/Italian. We would like to choose an international, nice name for our baby boy.His last name will be Testa. I have thought of Eric Vincent Testa (as my name starts with E), but this is not a hard criteria or Theodore Testa, or Thomas Testa. (I don’t mind if these names have been overused) .It has been difficult to decide on a name. I don’t particularly like nicknames in general, but I don’t mind certain nicknames. Thanks for your opinions! 😌

I like Luca

Some gorgeous Italian boys names out there, I agree I love Luca, Matteo (NN Matt if wanted), Giovani (NN Gio), Leonardo (NN Leo), Federico (although folk will probably pronounce it with an R is as Frederico).
i love Rocco with a NN Rocky - like the Kardashian woman can’t remember which I think that’s her kids name and although I can’t stand them I thought it was a cool name.

Do you like the nn Theo or Tom? If not then don’t use Theodore or Thomas. I also Luca / Lucas and Leo. Or do you like Max?

HugoYorway · 01/01/2025 13:39

Tom Testa is not good and I hate Theodore. I like Eric.

BootballJoy · 01/01/2025 14:12

From your previous threads, Eric is the one name that is reoccurring. No-one (on mumsnet or anywhere else) is going to like every name, so I'd go for the one you consistently like best which seems to be Eric? Or you could wait till he comes out as see which name he suits? Eric Vincent is a fine name.

Having said that if you have Italian connections I'd be tempted by the lovely names as per PP - Matteo, Marco, Nico, Leonardo, Rocco etc. They aren't unusual in the UK these days.

sel2223 · 01/01/2025 15:19

I would go for an Italian full name which can be shortened to a uk/ international NN.
Leonardo/Leo as suggested about...... or Matteo/Matt/Matty, Santiago/Santi, Nico/Nik
It would be lovely to honour both heritages

HugoYorway · 01/01/2025 15:22

The baby will be 75% British. A fully Italian name seems a bit too much.
