Opinions on the name Iman for Muslim baby girl please.

Iman means ‘faith’ in Arabic

I think it's beautiful.

I like it, but if you aren’t in a multicultural area people are likely to think it’s a boys’ name, so I wouldn’t in those circs .

In English I don't think it looks very nice. I man, isn't a nice combination of words.

Imani as above looks more feminine, but I'm still not keen I man I.

It's a lovely name, all the more so if it means 'faith'. I think most people have heard of the supermodel Iman so know it's a name for girls (I didn't know it was unisex until this thread). Congrats on your baby girl.

Yes it is technically a unisex name, however it is much more commonly used as a female name so that doesn’t bother me ☺️

In Arabic, it's written إِيمَان. The transliteration to a romanized alphabet is something to consider for when it's written; when spoken though, it starts with an 'ee' sound and has a long 'aah', so doesn't sound like I man.

Iman is sweet, as is Amal.

Honestly, it's not my cup of tea.
