for a boy. It's a family name and I really like it, but am worried about potential nicknames...?

It makes me think of 'Hark at that' or 'Hark back'.

CristinaTheAstonishing · 01/05/2008 14:37

Not keen on it.

nooka · 01/05/2008 17:06

I think it would be a great middle name with the family connection, but as you can see fom the threads (Kay Harker etc) it is predominantly a surname. If that's OK with you then as others have said, go for it. I wouldn't personally. I don't think it is particularly likely to be ridiculed, but it may stand out at least a little bit.

it actually means shit or crap but you all intent on ignoring me

expatinscotland · 01/05/2008 17:08

no.

sounds like a surname or made up.

why does 'usual' always have to equal 'naff'.

SoMuchToBits · 01/05/2008 17:25

My granny used to refer to her hearing aid as her "harker", so I'm afraid I couldn't hear the name without thinking of a hearing aid!

expatinscotland · 01/05/2008 17:26

harken the grouse!

harken the grouse!

Astrophe · 01/05/2008 17:36

I don' like it, but don't hate it, and it would be fine if I knew and liked the child.

Don't like it, it doesn't seem a real name.

HarrietTheSpy · 03/05/2008 12:08

I like it. It's a bit different, and it's really nice it's a family name. Go for it.
