I quite like Nessie but it's unusable anywhere that speaks English. Possibly even beyond 😂

I liked Joelle, but pronounced with a soft j. I knew if I chose it, the DD would have been called Jo-elle with a hard j sound.

Verity or Clemency. Love both but we're not posh enough!

I genuinely love the name Kermit - I think it's sweet on a young child but also strong and authoritative for an adult - but because of that frog..........

Natalie as it sounds awful with a Scottish accent.

Iona as the wrong surname can ruin it.

I loved Cuthbert and Hubert but could never have used them.

I reckon Myra will come back round in a generation or two. It's inextricable to us but by the time babies born this decade are having their own kids the murders will be nearly 100 years ago.

Lysander for me. It's so beautiful but I'd feel pretentious.

Esmeralda for my husband. I think it might be a Pratchett name. He loved it but it still felt a bit 'much' to me.

I have a Natalie but I have a London accent and she has an Oxfordshire accent, so it is phonetic: NAT-a-lee

Another vote for Clemency. I wanted to call DD 2 Felicity but it felt pretentious. My favourite names for a boy would have been Alaric or Illtyd but I'm happy with the names we chose for DS2
