mustsleep, have a sleep, and a re think. I think everyone has made their point about the name, but don't take it personally.

I liked the suggestion of James Preston.

VinegarTits · 30/04/2008 13:50

Slur didnt like your last lot of names, but hey diferent strokes and all that, call him whatever name you like, and dont worry about what anyone else thinks.

I didnt when i named ds2, people (even though i didnt ask for their opinions ) didnt like it and kept on suggesting alternatives, i just smiled and said no thanks, i have picked the name that i like and im sticking with it

donnie · 30/04/2008 13:50

I hate it. It is awful and makes me think of thick chavs and parents who can barely read.

Sorry but you did ask.

mustsleep · 30/04/2008 13:52

thanks for that it was really constructive

slur- my oldest twins are called Jacob and Samuel- i'm glad you approve of my taste!

donnie · 30/04/2008 13:53

well you asked for people's views and you've got them. So there it is.

Titter · 30/04/2008 13:53

donnie's not known fo her subtlety / wit / charm

mustsleep · 30/04/2008 13:54

Mustsleep.
I think it was unwise to canvess opinion when you were already set in your decision. I wouldn't ask for anyones thoughts on my two dcs names because I'm sure they'd be plently of negative comments.

VT
I personally wouldn't have chosen to name my dcs any of my suggestions, I too prefered first lot, though I do quite like Dylan. I was trying to give a different feel with the second lot, a bit more unusual less traditional English iyswim.

Am going again, though less huffy, just slightly disappointed that mustsleep didn't even notice my suggestions

sitdownpleasegeorge · 30/04/2008 13:56

I won't say what I think as my parents said if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything.

PLEAE NOTE : sitdownpleasegeorge is a fully fledged member of the CAMPAIGN FOR THE USE OF REAL NAMES.

May I suggest "Edward Simon", sounds kind of similar and I truly doubt there is a child with this name who has an ASBO.

S1ur · 30/04/2008 13:57

Jacob and Samuel are lovely

i'm not set in the decision just shocked at the way in which some have expressed their opinions that all

and i do like charlie quite a lot actually but dh does not, he does not like

jack
george
can't remember the others he "noed" (sp?)

there are loads of callums round here so that's out

we ca't really have anything beginning with a h as thats what our surname begins with and they all end up sounding too like harry hill

omg am never ever going to pick a name and he shall have to just be known as a symbol or number

OP posts:
mustsleep · 30/04/2008 14:06

i didnt mind william just think that it's bound to get shortened to willy

can do edward as that is ds's middle name and dh's dads name and would give mil far too much pleasure

jut find boys names so difficult could think of a million girls names that i like

I have an Adam [preens]

I think Christopher is nice.

Ben is very popular in these parts along with Jack and Sam.

katyjo · 30/04/2008 14:58

mustsleep just pick whatever name you like, it is an individual choice. Who wants to call their child the same as everyone else - boring!!
But you are asking for it posting on here, as you have noticed people have very strong opionions!
The name will come to you, if not now, when your lo is born - mind you I've four weeks to go and don't have a name yet, but last time had a name (Greg) and ds didn't suit it at all.

Enjoy your pregnancy - don't stress about it!
