PMSL at Moondog.

Not keen on either, but Preston in particular. Preston is a place in the North-West or that twonk from 'Celebrity' Big Brother.

CountessDracula · 30/04/2008 13:06

Another no here too. I personally don't like either name but that's by the by. However I also just don't think they go that well together.

How many syllables is your surname and what does it start with?

expatinscotland · 30/04/2008 13:07

they think they're being unique and different, moony.

but really, they're being stooopid and naff.

drives me round the twist.

my girls has Gaelic forenames. girl names.

this one will be no different: Muireann for a girl and Struan for a boy.

but when we tell Americans they seem to think names no Scottish person of sound mind would ever call their child are more 'Scottish'.

eh?

mustsleep · 30/04/2008 13:11

it starts with a h and is one syllable

i'm not scottish though and thought that bradley was an english name? never mind

not trying to be unique and different expatinscotland just trying not to use a name that four other kids in the class will have

anyway never mind

I don't like it sorry

CountessDracula · 30/04/2008 13:14

Bradley was no 67 most popular name last year

If you don't want him having the same name as others then choose something not in this list!

mustsleep · 30/04/2008 13:16

how about brodie then?

not ever met one bradley round here though

What about Brendan? without the Preston of course, any name with Preston tagged to it is going to sound awful.

moyasmum · 30/04/2008 13:19

No sorry, for all the reasons above.

CountessDracula · 30/04/2008 13:20

Brodie is not v nice either imo

Titter · 30/04/2008 13:20

I agree with others, Bradley Preston is awful. It is a shame as Bradley is my grandma's maiden name and my Dad's middle name and so in theory it would be a lovely option for any future DS. But in reality it is too horrible to contemplate.

Isn't Brodie a girl's name?

expatinscotland · 30/04/2008 13:21

oh, no, not Brodie.

sounds too much like Boak and reminds me of Deacon Brodie, who was not a very nice man.

Titter · 30/04/2008 13:22

what about baRney

i don't hate that and think you may like it

if you can get ove the uple dinosau connotations

Titter · 30/04/2008 13:22

beau could be quite cool

S1ur · 30/04/2008 13:22

no no mustsleep I think expat and mooney are at a tangent about some americans who use surnames as forenames. Not getting at you. DOn't be sad.

Right one syllable starting with H. mmmmm.

Benjamin James (Ben)
William Peter
Brendon Thomas
Jacob Samuel

Titter · 30/04/2008 13:24
