First and middle name same ending

So we are fairly set on first name Reuben and don't particularly want to use any family names as middle names. I have always loved the name Harrison, our surname is 2 syllables beginning with T. I can't decide if it flows nicely or if the double n at the end of first and middle just doesn't work. Other middle names we've considered are Caleb, Joshua, Jonah, Jacob. I feel least convinced by Joshua even though I can recognise it flows well. Would love to hear opinions of others as I just can't decide!

I actually think it flows better than Caleb, Jacob and Jonah, as it has a different amount of syllables to Reuben. Joshua flows the nicest, being a different amount of syllables and a different end sound, but if you're not feeling it Harrison is your next best bet.

Other suggestions:-

Reuben James
Reuben Christopher
Reuben Jack
Reuben George
Reuben Alexander
Reuben Oliver
Reuben Joel
Reuben Luke

I think it goes really well.

The three syllables following two syllables works, and the repeated n sound adds gravitas. It helps that Harrison is a surname too.

Reuben Caleb - doesn't flow.
Reuben Joshua - flows and would work.
Reuben Jonah - sounds a little too short somehow.
Reuben Jacob - a bit choppy, too many Bs.

Reuben Harrison sounds great to me! I’d use that if it’s your favourite.

Calliopespa · 07/12/2024 05:55

I think it works quite well.

Isn’t Reuben James a song?

Great suggestions, do like Alexander and Oliver but don't want his initials to spell rat or rot! Some of your other suggestions I've also thought of but my partner doesn't want him to share a name with any of his close mates 🤔. Thanks for your help x

Reuben Harrison T sounds fine.
Next best is Reuben Joshua T

Do you like
Reuben George T
Reuben Valentino T
Reuben Charles T
Reuben Nicholas T

I avoided the same ending when choosing names but surname has a few syllables so may be why. I like Reuben Jacob.

theduchessofspork · 07/12/2024 22:13

I think Reuben Jacob works best

I find Reuben Harrison is a bit thumpy

Yes now you mention it, “thumpy” is a good observation.

Rach325 · 08/12/2024 01:22

Thumpy 😂 it's very useful having feedback as it's so difficult when it's just me and my partner bouncing ideas. I totally hear you, I go back and forth on whether it sounds good.

Some days I think it flows, other days I feel less sure!
