Franklin or Caspar / Casper

which Do you prefer ?

What are you naming? A child or an Alsatian dog?

Both are handsome.
I would be steering clear of Frankie as a nick name.
That is the only thought that comes to my mind.

Frank or Franklin or Cass or Casper - all lovely.

I’d pick Franklin for my taste, as it feels more traditional and I like the nn’s Frank / Frankie.

Casper is also a good name but I’m not keen on Cas for short (the secondary kids round here seem to shorten everything to one syllable, like it or not!)

Both are awful names.

I just think Casper the ghost.

Franklin / Frank is nice

I love both. I think Franklin, whilst not too popular itself, merges a bit with all the Frank, Frankie, Francis names, so feels a bit more overdone, so I would go with Casper.

Franklin, Caspar, and Casper are all good names!

I have a 10yr old Franklin, so I'm voting for that, and at my age I strongly associate Casper with the ghost so not so keen.

Caspar. Frank is OK but I don't like Franklin.

Might be my age, but Casper is a friendly ghost to me! In my generation it would be laying them open to being teased for it (especially if he's likely to be blonde or fair skinned) but if its known as a regular name for kids now then go for it. Its nice enough, just my associations.
Don't love Franklin, it's very American for me. And as a PP said, will end up as Frank.

If you like some of the older names that are coming back (which I love, but admit was really suprised by the first little baby Arthur I met some years ago🤣)

Honestly...neither.

Casper makes me think of the ghost and is also my sisters white cat name so I prefer Franklin out of the 2

I think Casper the ghost but then I also think Franklin the tortoise which was a cartoon a little boy i used to babysit watched.

I don’t love either tbh.

I like Frederick more than Franklin.
