Someone I know is expecting a girl and considering the following combinations. She and her DP love all three and can't quite choose so are looking for opinions. I have their permission to post here. Please don't suggest anything completely different as they are fairly set on one of these.

Laura Molly Eve
Laura Nancy Eve
Laura Poppy Eve

(Laura Charlotte Eve was also on the table for a while but now they think they might want to save Charlotte for a possible DD2)

They are all pretty names, and good combinations!

Of those, I think I like the combination Laura Nancy Eve the best.

Mummyneedsacoffee · 22/11/2024 22:21

Laura Poppy Eve is very pretty x

BootballJoy · 22/11/2024 22:21

I'm not sure a name ending in 'y' works well with Eve following, as it's a double 'ee' sound.

They are all nice names individually. Almost the other way around- like Laura Eve Molly - would work slightly better, although the 'a' of Laura does run on a bit with the 'ee'.

Having said that it is an argument often said here that middle names/how they flow don't matter much.

If flow matters a lot I'd probably drop Eve as I don't think it flows with much as a middle name. Nice (and underused) as a first name.

Agree!

Laura Nancy Eve has my vote too.

TomatoSandwiches · 22/11/2024 22:28

I don't think any of those middle names go well with Eve.

Wherethewildthingsfart · 22/11/2024 22:30

Nancy is one of my favourite names!

Moreteaandchocolate · 22/11/2024 22:51

All are gorgeous! Laura Molly Eve gets my vote!

BootballJoy · 22/11/2024 22:57

If they are saving Charlotte, it goes better with Eve - maybe they could save Eve too, like Laura Nancy/Laura Molly (prefer both to Poppy) and Charlotte Eve for another DD.

Laura Molly Eve

Laura Nancy Eve

I agree with a pp that I don't think the 'y' ending works with Eve because of the 'ee-ee' sound, sorry

Charlotte works

KirstenBlest · 23/11/2024 10:57

Ditch the Eve. Laura Eve doesn't flow and neither do -y Eve.
Charlotte Eve is lovely.

CrispWinterSunshineBright · 23/11/2024 10:59

Not keen on any of those combinations.
Molly is the nicest name of the list.
Does Eve have to be involved?

Atishooo · 23/11/2024 11:02

Laura Charlotte works the best, the ‘y’ sounding names don’t flow.

Laura Jasmine
Laura Katherine
For example. I’m not sure the Eve really fits.

AutumnColours9 · 24/11/2024 03:17

Poppy

moonshinepoursthroughmywindow · 24/11/2024 10:45

Thank you all, I will be passing your thoughts on to my friend when I see her soon.

As far as I know, they are very fond of Laura and Eve, and would like to use both if possible, but they realised that they didn't flow too well together so that's when they started thinking about another name in between.

My personal favourite is Laura Nancy Eve but I'm trying not to be pushy about it!

My favourie is Laura Nancy Eve or ..

Laura Katherine Eve
Laura Camilla Eve

LiptonIcedMe · 25/11/2024 06:19

Nancy of the 3, but I think Laura Eve is lovely and simple. Don’t think it needs anything between!

Sheeparelooseagain · 25/11/2024 07:15

I prefer just Laura Eve

TempsPerdu · 25/11/2024 13:42

Another vote for Laura Nancy Eve. Love Nancy and think it has more character than the other two.

LaurenJensen87 · 26/11/2024 07:43

All are gorgeous! Laura Molly Eve gets my vote too!

Thighdentitycrisis · 26/11/2024 07:56

I think you need a 3 syllable middle name
Laura Elizabeth Eve sounds nice
