Boy name help!! Expecting triplets :))

Just posted a thread on boy and girl names but we've since decided on the girl name, so I'm making a new thread just on boy names to make things simpler.

Basically, we're having b/b/g triplets and we've decided on Mikael (mih - kye - el) for a boy and Nadia for the girl. We also already have a daughter named Amira (a - mee - rah). We're having a hard time deciding the last boy name, but this is our shortlist so far:

Amira + Mikael, Nadia, Musa
Amira + Mikael, Nadia, Ismael (iss - my - el)
Amira + Mikael, Nadia, Ilyas (ill - yah - ss)
Amira + Mikael, Nadia, Yunus (yoo - nus)
Amira + Mikael, Nadia, Taha

Essentially just want to know your favourite name/pairing but also if you have any opinions on any of the names at all (not including Amira)! Positive or negative, just anything that any of them make you think of.

If you have any other suggestions those are also welcome!! Thank you😊

Not Ismael - too close to Mikael
Not Taha - it is not as elegant as the other names.
Not Yunus - too much like Eunice).

That leaves Ilyas and Musa.
I prefer Musa but Ilyas offers a different initial, if that is important to you.

I can't advise on the names, but I just want to say congratulations to you. :)

Do you like Osman?

Agree with this

I love Taha and Ilyas from those names

Malamar · 21/11/2024 07:06

I love all of those names. I like the meaning of Taha the best but they’re all beautiful names.

Jessbow · 21/11/2024 09:19

Mikael, Nadia & Yakob
Mikael, Nadia & Zaki
Mikael, Nadia & Mustapher

FayCarew · 21/11/2024 10:19

Musa makes me think of banana.
Ilyas and Yusuf are nice.

TerryMeetsJulie · 21/11/2024 23:54

Ilyas. Lovely.

Harris

ladygindiva · 26/11/2024 22:34

I love ilyas

spectaclereceptacle · 27/11/2024 15:09

I wouldn't go for Musa because then you'll have two boys with the initial M born on the same day, which could cause confusion with medical records etc in the future.

I've never heard of Taha before and would assume it was a female name so perhaps avoid that one.

My favourite is Yunus. An advantage is that it's easy to pronounce and spell.

MinistryofThyme · 28/11/2024 16:43

I love Ilyas. Other suggestions - Ibrahim or Idris?

ETA Yusuf rather than Yunus?

RogueFemale · 29/11/2024 01:46

Bacchus

HoundsOfSmell · 29/11/2024 02:32

Ishmael is great with the names.

yunus is a bit too much like anus

JMSA · 29/11/2024 02:36

I really like Musa. But many British people would assume it to be a girls' name, I think (as ending in 'a').

coxesorangepippin · 29/11/2024 03:00

Don't like yunus

It's like monis or anus as a pp said

MirandaBlu · 29/11/2024 05:52

I'd choose Amira + Mikael, Nadia, Ilyas.

I love Amira, Nadia, and Ilyas.

At first, Mikael stuck out a little and I think it's because I am so used to seeing Michael, Mi(c)k, Mike, Mikhail, and other variations that Mikael seemed maybe a little too popular. But when I think about it, most of those Michaels and Mikes and Micks and so on are a lot older than your son will be. In that light, Mikael seems like a good, balanced counterpart to Ilyas (a cognate of very well known names like Elias, Elijah, Ilya, etc.), as a name with classic roots that will be recognised anywhere.

HeadlessGummyBears · 02/12/2024 07:59

If you’re not 100% set on the names, instead of Nadia, I’d go for Liana or Layla/Leila. Leila and Ismael/Ishmael sound lovely together. So from your options, Ilyas stands out the most and I’d suggest Amira + Ismael, Leila, Ilyas. Sami, Rafi, Omar and Zain are also some names that are easy to spell and pronounce.

Duckies · 02/12/2024 08:03

I like Ismael but would say Ish-male so that may be an issue
