Crap, Noah is our favourite and just found out it’s no.1 in the U.K. Didn’t have a clue and always didn’t want a top ten name. Are there millions of Noah’s? What else would I like?

I am truly sorry for any offence, which was truly truly unintentional. I was trying to use the fact you were oblivious to Noah's popularity as a positive towards the fact it doesn't matter (as I truly don't believe it does and was trying to encourage you to use it). I could only respond to the facts as I wrongly assumed you had presented them, as if you were currently looking for a name for an imminent arrival. I'm so sorry that I badly misunderstood.

I was honestly trying to be positive about the fact you didn't know it was popular. Clearly that has backfired spectacularly and made me unintentionally come across as an insensitive bitch. I truly apologise for any offence cause. That was never my intention.

For what it's worth, Noah is a beautiful name, regardless of popularity, and will be perfect for your future child who I sincerely hope you are blessed with soon. Context is everything and, now I now, I realise how insensitive my comments appeared as I made assumptions which I shouldn't have done. Please know the intentions behind my comments were good in trying to encourage you to use the name, if unfortunately clumsy in the now known circumstances.

Please accept my apologies.

Thank you for replying and I was probably harsh too in my response. He is on his way!! But still doesn’t feel real I think until we meet him to know his name. Sorry for also making you feel bad about your comment. I was having a bad day.
❤️

Don't worry about it, I'm just pleased to hear it's finally happening for you (and still think you should use Noah!).

Call him Noah! It’s lovely and I only know one.

schoolsoutforever · 14/11/2024 20:48

It's very popular at the moment. It just depends whether you mind that or not. He may well have several in his class. But what is popuar just means lots of people like the name. A bit like Jack a few years ago.

Moses is an alternative which I prefer but it's all just preference. If you love the name you should go for it.

MerryMarys · 14/11/2024 22:13

There are sooo many Noahs around... yawn

Hope you have an unusual surname!

Oh I love Noah, if we'd had a 3rd son that would have been his name. I'm surprised it's so popular, I have 2 sons and genuinely have never come across it in any of their classes or clubs over the years. Harry, Ollie, Jack, Finley is what we come across frequently, they're teens/later primary though, but even babies and siblings etc don't know a single Noah.
