Middle name help!

Have name changed for this as haven't discussed names with anyone IRL and am paranoid about someone knowing who I am!

We are due our first baby in the next week. We don't know sex and have chosen first name for both boy/girl as well as boy's middle name however we are stuck on a girls middle name! Which of the following do you think is best? Surname is two syllables.

Matilda Florence
Matilda Violet
Matilda Clementine

Any other suggestions also welcome!

Matilda Florence is my fave but they’re all lovely.

Stormyweatheroutthere · 27/10/2024 16:53

Surname initial may affect your decision..

Agree!

I vote Matilda Clementine

I like the others too, though!

Latevictorianpleasureseeker · 27/10/2024 17:04

They're all nice, slightly prefer Matilda Florence, but I'm finding Violet is starting to become the new fillers middle name replacing the May, Rose and Grace. My dds middle name is Violet BTW (I've come across quite a few recently)

Radiolala · 27/10/2024 17:07

Florence

I like Matilda Florence and Matilda Violet. I think Matilda Florence flows better than Matilda Violet, but I like Violet more.

boysmuminherts · 27/10/2024 17:12

They are all nice, do any of them have a family significance?

legalalien · 27/10/2024 17:15

I feel like one syllable would be better. Faith, May, Jean/ Joan? Ruth?

stopringingme · 27/10/2024 17:42

Matilda Florence

LikeTalkingToLassie · 27/10/2024 17:52

Florence or Violet

Orrinocc0 · 27/10/2024 18:19

No one really uses middle names anyway so it's not that big a deal. Just pick any of them they all sound okay.

barnstone · 27/10/2024 18:31

Florence

barnstone · 27/10/2024 18:34

In my job I see thousands of people's full names and a surprisingly high number of people actually use their middle names as their preferred name. So choose something that you'd be happy for them to swap to if they decide they don't like Matilda.

Newmumin23 · 27/10/2024 18:40

I think Matilda Clementine is too many syllables, it doesn’t flow as well.
Florence or Violet are both lovely, I slightly prefer Violet.

I love Matilda Clementine. That was the name I had picked for DC2 but he was a boy so we went in another direction 😂

RoamingRoamy · 27/10/2024 21:59

Matilda Clementine is beautiful, but in my family we spelt Clementine, as Klemintigne, particularly wonderful :)

OopsieeDaisy · 27/10/2024 22:02

Florence and Violet are both nice, I would choose Florence as it flows a little better.

I prefer Clemence to Clementine.
