Thinking back to my boarding school days (so late 90s):

Thomasina
Bridget
Camilla (her parents bought her a fancy horse that she immediately fell off and refused to ride again, I was so annoyed about that!)
Philippa
Fabienne
All the Victorias but they all went by Tory not Vicky.
There were many more unusual names but I can’t remember now 🙁.

Well the Middleton sisters were Catherine & Phillipa, they were quintessential "jolly hockey stick" types! James a bit more ambiguous!

Just saying. In my experience, the posher people are, the less pretentious they are.

Just spotted my name on people's lists....

As an adult rider though most people in the riding schools I have taken lessons at had fairly regular names, rather than the usual suspects.

But doesn’t ’jolly hockey sticks & pony club’ suggest aspirational-posh (try-hard) rather than actually posh?

Many of these are very modern.
If you think back to - for example - to the likes of Betjemen (surely the essential jolly hockey sticks poet? - though his own daughter was called Candida) then you get:
Joan
Beryl
Judith
Gillian
Daphne
Marjorie
Betty
Irene
Valerie

Of the same era, names such as Elizabeth, Catherine (various spellings), Anne, Louise, Victoria, Jane, Mary were/are pretty perennial and classless

Hilary
Amanda

Rupert
Sebastian
Charles (if known as Charles not Charlie)

30 years ago I would have said Oliver, but everybody's called Oliver now.

Jessamine was (I think) the name of the girl who lived at the Big House in the village in the later Milly-Molly-Mandy books. Her mother drove a car and would pile the village children in for picnics in the countryside. This would have been the 20s, I guess.

Definitely Annabel and Arabella. Philippa too, perhaps. Boys, absolutely Jonty. And Rupert.

I'm getting quite annoyed with the name Hugo always being bullied here. We actually have a Hugo and are definitely not posh and know many little Hugos in different countries with normal parents. No idea what this pony club is.
